This presentation will address the current climate of opioid abuse in the area and how it is impacting the population as a whole and specifically the older population.
Jordan joined the Miami County Public Health in 2016, and currently serves as the health district’s Injury Prevention Coordinator. She works with local officials, advocates, and providers to expand critical health interventions that reduce opioid overdose deaths, including overdose education and naloxone distribution, syringe access programs, and health education. Jordan also serves on the Miami County Heroin Coalition. She is a native of Canton, Ohio, and holds a Masters of Public Health from Kent State University.

Danielle has spent 20+ years in Legal Support Services and 25+ years in Administrative Support. She has worked for the Ohio Attorney General for over 13 years in various sections including Labor Relations, Chief Council Staff, and Consumer Protection. Danielle conducts presentations to groups across the state to educate Ohioans about their rights as consumers and how to avoid becoming victims of scams. She also prepares educational materials to advance the mission of protecting Ohioans and their families from deceptive and unfair business practices and consumer fraud.
This presentation will define hoarding through the eyes of those who struggle with the disorder, identify the criteria and thought process involved in compulsive hoarding, and present treatment modalities, assessment tools, and interventions that may be useful for health care professionals working with this special population.
Kristy has worked in the field of Social Work for 18 years, with the last six years serving Hospice Care. Kristy is a Certified Dementia Practitioner and is a State of Ohio Social Work Provider for Continuing Professional Education. She has written and trained seminars on topics related to the health care industry, emotional healing, and grief and loss. For the last six years, she has had the privilege of helping patients and families in her position as a Community Educator at Hospice of the Miami Valley.
